  The origin of its name is not sure although two hypotheses are shuffled: first it comes from a prison that in remote times had there, in a valley, to which it was ended up to him calling "Delitoso Valley", another meaning comes from delight, and possibly this "nickname" comes by the Convent that founded San Pedro de Alcántara, and where the monks expiaban their faults who had committed sexual sin.
 

Located to the south of the Mountain range of Guadalupe this villa, that belonged to the County of Oropesa, it conserves the house of Dukes de Frias, gentlemen of the population where it inhabited by a time San Pedro de Alcántara, conserving itself still the house where it did it.

Its parochial church San Juan Evangelista, constructed between the s.  XV and XVI, keep in its interior a beautiful baptismal battery with reliefs of s. XVI and a Christ Crucificado of century XVIII. Interesting the arc carpanel framed in a beautiful alfiz of the cover on the feet of the building. Ship covered with vault of crucería.

Also it is to emphasize his cinegetic value, gastronomy, its rich inlays, cheeses, and typical candies of the municipality.
